Hi guys...I hope you don't mind but I'm jumping in here to forward the latest update on T1 and yes, my very own..."Pickle" LOL! As some of you may or may not know (or care for that matter)...Mark and Troy are in Mountain Home, AR right now preparing for the BCB Team Championship Tourney starting tomorrow, going through Monday. Here is a pic he sent me of him during today's practice on Bull Shoals. http://www.fishingtexas.net/discus Just kidding...Ha! That was for you Yank! /clipart/wink.gif Anyway...I talked with Mark earlier as he and Troy were "thawing out" over a few beers and a Filet at the local Sports Bar (Imagine that!) They had just come off of the somewhat stingy waters of Bull Shoals after a cold day of scouting and pre-fishing. When I asked Mark how his day went he said, and I quote..."Oh! it was great!" "It was brutally cold, (25 degrees) windy and the fishing sucked!" "There were very few "scattered" bait fish and the "gamers" have been "slammed" in to shock with this sudden cold front." Aanndd a few other comments I will leave to your imagination. He did say they were able to "scratch up" a scant practice day stringer and put together a game plan, for tomorrow but he felt that they'll be lucky to limit out on all three weigh ins, and...that with this format and these conditions it is anybody's ball game. For those that care to take a peak at the format, etc. I have included this link to the Bass Cat Owner's Forum where Rick Pierce is, and will continue posting periodic updates throughout the next two days. http://basscatowners.yuku.com/topic/26802/Team-Championship-format#.UpFd-ifpdKA There will be some angler interviews and weigh in "stats" posted on Bass Fan as well. Bass Cat is treating every one of these guys extremely well...(yes even Mark) but boy are they making them "jump through the hoops" for it! Good luck to Troy and Mark! Hoping they bring the WIN home to Texas! So speaking of Cold Turkey...I hope all of you and your families have a safe and WARM Holiday! Happy Thanksgiving! PS. Billy...just read a couple of your posts! You are THE IRON MAN! Mark had told me that things were really going your way with those tough treatments but I had no idea what you are going through! You are incredible! So glad to hear you are doing well and out kicking the world around! Hope you and Kay have a wonderful Holiday...God Bless you both! BARB |

Thanks Shawn...they'll need it...They are definitely fishing out of their comfort zone! IT's cold up there! A Bass Cat observer / fan is posting photos updates on Bass Cat's facebook page here's that link: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10152059622459113&set=a.10151977457764113.1073741827.265461234112&type=1&theater and then also on the Bass Cat Owner' Forum. They indicated that they had complications at launch this morning due to the 19 degree temps (ie. Boats frozen to trailers and slick ramps) But other than that it sounds like they had no problems...They have just posted that MARK AND TROY ARE LEADING! after the 10 am Norfork Lake weigh in with just over 6lbs on five fish! They are off the water and trailering to "Crown Lake" now where they will fish until "DARK THIRTY" and have a 5PM weigh in. Then tomorrow all day on Bull Shoals and weigh in at 3PM. I will post any further updates / links for those who are interested! Here is the link to the Bass Cat Owners forum with a couple pics. near the bottom of the thread. http://basscatowners.yuku.com/topic/26802/Team-Championship-format#.UpIwbCfpdKB |

Now if you haven't grown tired of my posting "blasts" or need some more "reading material" Here is the link to the day one recap for Mark and Troy's ICE FOLLY! Probably nothing new in this post but there will be another after it is all over either tonight or tomorrow. Final weight is at 3:00PM Today! Here is the link to the day one wrap up from Bassfan.com below. Conditions at the ramp this morning were 30 degrees and raining! Mother Nature is hardcore...adding insult to injury! YIKES! This is so close...I sure hope they can hold on to that lead and WIN! Thanks for all the Cheers! Barb http://www.bassfan.com/docktalk.asp?id=11445#11445 |

Well guys...Thanks for all the cheers but alas...Bull Shoals was stingy for Mark and Troy. I have posted the link below to Bass Cat's FB page where they are posting photos and updates. The look on their faces says it all! Clearly they are both understandably disappointed. Don't know yet where they ended up...I think second. Tough conditions and tough competitors! Mark and Troy...Great effort! So proud of you! Will post an update as soon as I find out stats. Happy Holidays! https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10152063166184113&set=a.10152062370409113.1073741830.265461234112&type=1&theater |
