The Lady Tigers had a slow start, maintaining a small lead all the way through the 5th but just could not capitalize on the run needed to clinch the run-rule (10 after 5 innings). Jessica drew 3 walks, a single, and was thrown out at 1st on a close play. Corey had a pretty good night with a triple, a single, a walk, and she too was thrown out at 1st once. Jessica and Corey each had 2 stolen bases as well. In the bottom of the 6th the girls rallied with 2 outs, increasing their lead from 6-2 up to 10-2 by the time Corey came to the plate. With a runner on 3rd, all Corey had to do was clear the fence to end the game. Unfortunately, she came up short with an infield single allowing the 11th run to clear the plate. Corey stole 2nd then Jessica singled moving Corey around to 3rd. Jessica stole 2nd uncontested and all we needed was a base hit to end the game. Unfortunately, the next batter dribbled a ball into the infield and was thrown out at 1st. The girls held Muenster in the top if the 7th to finish out the game. We get to do it all over again tomorrow at 5:00 for game 2. Not sure if Muenster has any other pitchers but hopefully we bring our sticks with us tomorrow because we hit very poorly against a not so talented pitcher. Give them a girl throwing 55-60 and they can hit all night. Slow that to 40-45 and they struggle with the adjustment. Oh well, a W is a "W" and all they need is one more to advance to the next round. Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish
