Saturday- we had a blast.. and any of you warm blooded types would have appreciated the mild temps. Also got a few lg mouth bass - maybe 3 lbs biggest

It got thinner as you made your way out towards the Ct river - But this little setback had about 5 inches of hard black ice. It was tough to cut- Its the "good stuff". Being clear & hard ice has another advantage.. You can see down into the water three or 4 feet.. Makes fighting fish really cool as they flash and wheel under your feet The ice will be several inches thicker this weekend.. some guys are already pushing their 500 lb bob houses out on the lakes.. actually we are pretty much up and running ice wise in New England

I prefer being on Ice to 100 degrees in a bass boat most days.. Until it gets too cold that is. You can walk around - which adds a dimension to fishing that is hard to duplicate.. Its a social thing too.. hard to explain to Texans.. Just like "Lobster Pounds", butchering the letter "R" in normal speech--- and appreciation of Tom Brady.
