Well, spent half a day on Welsh with Rmax and Curtis I got off around 1-ish. Them in one boat me in another, my report is not what you've been hearing. However it was fished before the weekend by us, it was ON buddy, 68-74 degree water. I had 2 fish over 6 lbs and a 5+ in the first hour starting @ 7:00am. 1-tx rig fish, 1-blow up on a topwater, easily 25-30 fish on a zoom trick worm wacky rigged and missed or lost half that many again. They wanted that dude big time, best fun I've had since Venice. I really didn't catch many dinks, if I did I was fishing to shallow. I was up north on the east banks past all the big cow fields, fished just like Fork did in 2008 & 2009 lots of hydrilla and some timber---ahhhhhhhhh the good ol-days... Had a lot of 17.1/2 inch fish or just under the 18" inch mark, key was keeping the boat in 6-8 foot and working down the grass line, not throwing at the bank. Tons of fat fish, I was amazed, once Randy and Curtis switched over to the wacky rig they hooked up immediatly. No kidding, Curtis made 5 consecutive cast to one spot an caught 5 fish on the wacky, a blessed day indeed. Not bragging on it, just sharing a truly fun day on the water that seem to be fewer and farrer between these days.. We were also blessed with little to No wind in which to work our lures, had it been Saturday, the results would have been different im sure.. | ||

We caught about 35 mostly off beds and the smallest we had was 2.5 lbs! Lots of 3.5- 5 lbers! Not to crowded and fish cruising everywhere! Catching Big Ole PIGS...
