I have a fishing tale to share.

This past Saturday night we were crappie fishing in the back of a creek on the north west end of Fork. Crappie weren't cooperating so I grab my frog rod. Chucked kermit out and started working it back with high hopes of catching a nice bass. I chunked out a couple more times, then out of nowhere a bird swooped down and grab my frog and my rod bowed real good. The bird landed about forty yards on the same shoreline as me. About this time I realized it was an Owl. I hollered to the group I was with that I caught an owl and none of them believed me until they saw it try to fly away again.

I'm trying to decide the best way to get out of this little predicament. I don't want to kill or harm the Owl but at the same time I don't want to get tore up by it either. About this time one of the guest staying at the same fish camp says she can free it. I'm happy to say she did free it and get my frog back too.

Has anybody else caught an Owl on a frog before?

That was a fun little adventure.

That had to be exciting when your line takes off. I can share the feeling you had, it happened to me once also.
Mine was a large topwater lure and a huge Buzzard...LOL

We were behind the dam of Possum Kingdom in a small 10'foot jon boat anchored right under the don't cross highline. Tall cliff to our right which was also the buzzard roost, as the sun came up and warmed the far left side of the dam, the buzzards would drop off the cliff and glide to the warming shore below.
We were fishing for big stripers so our gear was heavier than normal bass gear to make long cast with the topwater lures. One of my cast struck a buzzard and stuck it under the wing. I tell ya that thing spooled my reel an took the lure to the far bank in forbiden waters... I watched the buzzard peck and bite at the lure until it finnaly got it off..
My brother and buddies laughed their azz's off... I didn't think it was so dam funny, I had to go back to my truck to respool my reel ...
