Any one know anything about trout fishing at this time of year? Where to find them in Galveston bay complex? What to use for bait? I would like to go on Thursday.

Can't help you out Dean. They are all in the deeper canals and open lakes around here right now with a few on the coastal oyster reefs.

The Army Hole at Espiritu Santo Bay and Sabine Lake have been getting lots of attention lately.
Good Luck and I look forward to lots of photos of the action.

It's been way too many years since I've fished Galveston Bay (1980 was the last time). We used to fish out in the west bay area and along the bridge off I-45 in the deeper holes. Jigs bounced slowly on the bottom in 4 - 15ft of water or Rattletraps (chrome with black back) cranked in 2 - 7ft of water. Look for bait fish if you can find them (electronics) and work it slow. You can also tip a shrimp tail jig with fresh dead shrimp as you bounce along the bottom and pick up black drum and flouder too.

Dean, If you start getting into some specs I may have to take a road trip and go fishing with you. Last time I was at Port Aransas we were able to get some bay fishing in around our deep sea charter. I ended up bringing home a few specs to eat. I've been wanting some more ever since. Good luck on finding some fish.
