Finally got out of the house and did some fishing around here. Left Friday around noon and was fishing by 1:30. I went bass fishing but fished until nearly 3:30 with only one bite and what a small one it was. Decided to go look for some speckled trout. Fished until dark for about a dozen small trout. Running back through the marsh to get home I realized I should have been redfishing. The redfish were absolutely everywhere in the marsh. Sorry no pictures, wife wanted the camera.

Left Sat around 11 and went to a total different area of the parish that I usually don't fish with a friend . We rode and fished everywhere for a total of 4 reds and 2 trout. Just was not the weekend to catch fish around here some reason. I have a feeling the front that went through Wed or Thur still had the fish lockjawed. Oh well, there is always another weekend.

Bummer on not really getting into them. I know you are not use to catching just a few down there but it is still early. You learned some new water -- hard to believe -- and at least got the line stretched. :-)

Thanks for the report buddy...
Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

Glad you guy to spend some time on the water. Hopefully the fish will be more willing to bite next time.

Oh, I do have the best of all worlds when it comes to catching different species of fish. While it is not as common as it used to be due to errosion and saltwater intrusion, it is not unusual to catch trout, bass, freshwater cats, and redfish all in the same place.

Apparently it was a morning bite happening this weekend from talking to people. Oh well!

Fished CABC at Palestine in the roadrunner div. Ended up in 3rd place with 14.38lbs. We fished the upper end of the lake in real shallow water with spinnerbaits. The first check of the season and it feels good, especially after that zero the weekend before in Media Bass. Fished Fork on sunday for a few hours and landed a 6.7lbs on a spinnerbait. The fish was 20.5" a real football of a fish. Next Event is the Pines Sat-Sun Irving Bass Club. Wes & I barely remember that one from years past :-) www.cabaoutdoors.com

Nothing better than fish on spinnerbaits. Congrats on the 3rd place finish.
