I am no expert, but I will be happy to answer any questions you have concerning fishing. I think most of the guys/gals on this site will do the same. Enjoy those teen years. They'll be gone before you know it.

The reason this site is here -- other than to tease Greg :-) -- is to help others catch more fish. Ask away and we will do the best that we can to assist without leading you too far astray... :-)

BTW: Thanks for your participation Redneck88...
Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

Ask away, some of these guys know all the new tricks and there are others here that know some pretty good old tricks too :-)

First tip, see that thing hung around my neck in my profile pic. It's a toe nail clipper hung on a leash. Saves your teeth when your fishing a single rod and it's time to change lures and retie.

Some of the crew here simply add 7 or 8 rods to the tackle pile to avoid having to retie and better balance their line to lure offerings. Bass boaters I tell ya. When you wade fish, bank fish or kayak fish or simply use one or two rods you need a good set of line cutters to retie or cut off worn areas of your line.

Add a backpack to store your tackle and your mobile, tackle ready and can jump from rock to rock, wade the shoreline or float a kayak or tube and catch fish. I use clear tackle storage plastic boxes and stuff them down into my backpack with plugs, RattleTraps, spoons, hooks, bullet weights and jig heads. The plastics (worms, shad and shrimp tails) stay in zip lock bags and get stuffed into the back pack along with pliers/wire cutters, filet knife, a small pen light flashlight, measuring tape and a camera. Add a few bottles of water and a few quick high energy snacks and you can go for miles and miles.

A backpack rig has been the best tackle addition I've made to my fishing program ever. You can't take everything but if you know what works at that time, you don't need to take everything. It works great on jetty rocks, fishing piers and working rivers, streams or small ponds.
