With the recent ourbreak along the Brazos River affecting Lakes like Granbury, Whitney and Possum Kingdom. I was just wondering if it effected where you started fishing at until these lakes recover. I have heard Whitney has picked up some but Granbury is still hurting bad and Possum Kingdom wasn't hurt as bad as either one. What have yall heard?

I have spent considerable time on Possum Kingdom ever since I was 5. That golden algae or whatever it is has ruined PK. I've spent a little time on Granbury, and I believe PK got hit harder. I don't even take the boat when we go to PK now.

I had heard Granbury was hit harder. I don't know though because I haven't fished either very much. I know it put alot of striper guides out of work on Whitney. Dale have you ever fished behind the damn at PK?

1 time when they stocked it with rainbow trout(the preffered live bait of one notorious striper guide) but never for stripers. I did fish for stripers below Texhoma one time.

I would put the water coming out of there as being colder than the guadalupe. We have tried it for striper but never done any good. We used to go to Granbury and fish below the damn. Before 9-11 you could wade up to the teeth and fish over next to the gates and kill HUGE striper. You can't get that close anymore thanks to the arabs!

It's damn cold I'll give you that. The Tx state record striper was caught below PK many years ago by a guide named Shane Davies. Unfortunately he was using live rainbow trout for bait and the game warden busted him.......TWICE. Last I heard he was fishin in Huntsville.
