Or trucks half submerged... Some of the best entertainment can be found at the ramp. Wes and I sat back and watched people on Ray Hubbard at the ramp one day when it was really windy. We laughed our arses off. Remember the guy w/ wife and kid in the 10 foot boat? From the look on her face and wetness of her clothes, they either got a bigger boat or a divorce after 10 minutes on the lake. Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

I watched a guy at Rayburn one afternoon back his trailer down to load his boat. He hopped out to get in his boat to pull it on the trailer. But, in his haste, he forgot to put the truck in park. About 10 seconds later all you could see was about a softball size piece of the top of the cab of his truck sticking out of the water. And bubbles....lots and lots of bubbles. I know it wouldn't be funny if it happened to me, but at the time I found it rather amusing!! Nothing makes a fish bigger than almost being caught.

How would you like to explain how a boat at the lake hit your truck to your insurance? Well a couple of co-workers got the chance, seems an intoxicated boater kinda used his trailer as a ramp to jump his boat into the back my buddies truck. He begged them not to call the Cops and they said OK as both of them showed their badges. |

Your right, picou. Boat ramps can be amusing, as long as your not waiting to use it! Nothing burns my butt more that having someone pull up to a one holer, back up to the ramp, and stop. Then unload the ice chest, fishing poles, take the tie downs off.. etc.. That stuff should be done away from the ramp. I got so mad one time on Lake Palestine, I could have bit off a nail head! We were trying to get out to trailer to the weigh-in of a tournament, and boat ramp was tied up with a yahoo.. They kept the ramp tied up for over ten minutes!! That's a long time when you have a nice load of bass in the live well, and a weigh in time that's fast approaching!! Boat ramp etiquette, people!!!!!!!!! |

I saw a guy once backing his boat down the ramp and the trailor came off the hitch. The boat was still strapped to the trailor and almost sank from the weight. We had a good laugh from that one. |

I should have had the video camera at Bohnam this weekend. First, there was a group who had the truck backed down so far the tailgate was in the water. They tried to pull the boat up on the severly submerged trailer and just hit the tailgate. So, he backed the boat away while his buddy pulled the truck up some -- not enough. Again they backed and pulled up. Well, this went on the entire time that I am unstrapping the boat and getting things ready at a leasurely pace. Finally, they get it on the trailer and pull out. Then, they pull up forward and block the drive. Then they go back down the ramp, then back to block the drive, then back into the water, etc... One of the times that they are in the water a pleasure boat pulls up just past the ramp with the boat still blocking the free lane and he starts to take off the straps, put on kids life jackets, take off stuff, and on and on. It took over 20 minutes till I could squeeze in there and get launched. Of course, I was in no hurry that day so I just sat back and laughed at these people. Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

I saw a guy at the local marina launch his boat, get in his boat, and go to his camp! He forgot his truck running in the ramp. Then he wondered why he could not remember where he parked his truck a couple days later. |
