I planned on fishing Friday but wife talked me into going to N'Awlins with her to visit some of her friends and eat in Bucktown at Deanie's. Excellent food so of course I agree!

Sat morning finds me in the aluminum boat and go devil with a good friend. And what a speckle trout morning it was. 50 by 8:30 with many more catch and release by 11:00. Made the trip home and got a phone call that a friend wants me and BigBoy to come out to the camp that evening. Hook the boat up and we are on our way. Well the wind was blowing about 20+ MPH out of the Southeast so we decide to stay at dock of the camp sharing a few adult beverages, eating grilled backstrap, Boudin, and homemade sausage. I let BigBoy take my boat down the bayou a few camps by himself to his friends and he is in hog heaven. We spent the rest of the evening just telling lies and having a good time.

We woke up early Sunday morning to no wind so after the speckle trout we go. We caught about 10 in the first 20 minutes when a pack of porpoises completely void our area of any chance of catching more for a while. Was pretty amazing show other than them ruining my spot. We stuck it out and caught 34 before the wind picked up again and ruined the rest of our day. Not bad considering my brother calls me out of the blue and then pushes my out of my spot and then the guy I stayed with came in also so we had 5 boats within about a 250 yd circle and we still all caught fish. I was bemoaning the fact that I did not have my digital camera due to my wife wanted it when BigBoy says the brightest thing I ever heard him say "She always wants it, Why don't you buy your own?" I'll have to work on that.

Anyway we get home that afternoon and my wife has us an assignment. We are suppose to fry fish for her entire family. So I put BigBoy to work while I sat and supervised while guarding the Bud Light. And a mighty fine job he did!

Bigboy all I got to say is all they have to do is go back to the last time we went fishing and see the # of trout we caught and who is slacking. Almost the exact same # and results. There is only one person slacking around me!

South La FRESH fried trout is unbeatable. I find it gets a little stronger after frozen but it is still high on the eatability scale!
