Anyone got any information on how the white bass bite is on Travis? I will be headed up the Pedernales in the morning to see if I can put a few in the boat.

If they bite there like they do around here I would try a small white grub or bass assasin. We kill them in walnut creek here all the time just haven't been yet.

Not sure about Travis, but I have been reading that the Trinity above Livingston is loaded with them. I would imagine the run should be strong down there and well into the creeks.
Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

Here's a fishing report from last Sunday on the Perdernales near 71 and Lake Travis area

"Fished Pedenales River on Sunday. Launched at Gloster Bend, off 1431, at 3PM..Went almost to Reimers. Talked to several boaters. They said there were 20+ boats up near the first set of falls. Since it gets shallow up there, we did not go. We trolled several place between the highway 71 bridge and Reimers. Caught one small one. Talked to another fisherman with 15 keeper whites.
Went back towards the Colorado River split and found a school in 30 feet of water. Started trolling. Caught several nice whites.
At dark, started fishing lighted boat dock, with minnows. Caught Crappie to 14.5", whites to 14" and one 16" channel catfish"

Well me and redneck88 only caught a few (8). All nice size white bass though. doesn't look like they have started rinning hard yet. most of the fish were in the 15-16 inch range.

Just keep practing you will get the hang of it soon enough. If the bird nest is bad enough just give it to Toro sr. and grab another one to practice with. He should have enough fishing poles to keep you going at least a week. And by the time you get to the last one you will have either learned how to use a bait caster or he will have the 1st few fixed.
