Friday AM finds the boat sitting in the front yard waiting on me to return from dropping the kids off at school. On my way, my caller ID shows I'm getting a call I was expecting the night before. "Big, let's go fishing?" is what I'm expecting. But it goes like this: "Big, I know you have laid those wooden laminate planks before. Come help me lay it in my camp." Dang, everyone knows I'm handy to have around and a real sucker! Reluctantly I agree assuming everything is ready to go. Get down there to find out not only was not everything ready to go but nothing was ready to go. He dreamed this idea up that morning and I was the boss and laborer with him helping. What he dreams is a 3-4 hr job is a two day affair. Oh well, I fish for free with him enough. I'll give him a hand. Get all the materials purchased and prep work done and get about 1/2 laid but my mind just goes tired and blank about 3:30 pm and I told him I had enough and left. A good Friday shot.

Friday PM Gerald calls: "Hey, I can't do anything tomorrow due to I have to be somewhere at noon. Let's go fishing"! That's what I'm talking about! :-) We launch the go devil at Sunrise and get out to the intended spot.
go devil
Gerald looks kind of disgusted. No tide. I threw on the trusty Tsunami minnow and it was off to the races. 50 Beautiful trout and one deeply hooked bass by 8 am. Caught about three other 2 lb bass but let them go. Full of eggs already.
go devil
Sorry, not the best pictures in the world. Ended up forgetting the camera in the truck and then everyone knows if you don't have to handle trout again, you don't. Slimest creatures on earth just about. Anyway, we ice the fish down and drop them off at the cleaners and home by 11 AM. Can't beat that.

I get a call Sat PM from Gerald. Are we going to go fishing and then finish the camp tomorrow? Weatherman is calling for 100% rain and a complete washout for Sunday. Weatherman is never wrong is he? :-( Was he ever. Beautiful day and missed a chance to catch 50 more. Oh well, finished the camp. Fair warning to the speckle trout: Next weekend, it's on!!

Pretty much. Not high on my list of equipment to bring! And wife usually wants it when I want it due to newborn. Not bragging but mainly due to I Live in the heart of some of the best fishing in South La especially for #'s, I've caught so many fish and taken so many fish pictures it got boring. How many of the same speckle trout redfish pictures do you want. Picou is working on me to improve on this factor. Maybe one day.

On top of it's pretty embarrasing fishing with coonasses asking them to take your picture with a Trout and then explaining it is for a Texas fishing site! They look at you like you crazy or something. It's Purely for Picou and ATW entertainment. ATW entertains me with those big Tx deer he kills so I return the favor with all the fishing stories. Picou it is purely just to rub it in I catch fish and he can't :-)

Great to hear someone got into the fish. I'm ready for that next wave of warm temps to hit up here. Fish are ready to turn on, just need about 4 more degrees on the water temp. Congrats on the fish caught.

Now that's a full basket...

Congrats on a nice limit of specks and save some of those fillets for the April weekend at Oz's place... :-)

You don't need a picture of every fish, just a couple of "on the water" pictures. :-)
Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

Brother Bill, if you are ever interested just let me know. I charter fish from May to Aug but I can always show you the sure spots on the map. It really is not that hard to get around down here especially if you have a GPS other than in the winter on low tides. ATW, Wes, and Simek are coming down in July. We going have us a good time yeah! :-)
