Another easy charter! Running for Genesis oil salesman Jonathan out of Shreveport. Easy two man 50 fish limit today. We left the marina about 2:15 pm and threw the first cast right after 2:40. The first stop did not pan out anything but had 48 at 4:30 at the next stop on Tsunami Purple Glaze and H&H Opening Night cocahoes. Took another 1/2 hr to catch the last two fish between losing several at the boat and the few we landed were not 12" long. It's amazing fishing right now. I have charter tomorrow and Saturday with the same guys. Will keep you guys updated. Trout are working there way south out of the marsh. It should be on for at least another two weeks and then it should slow down again for a while. But by then the crappie should be kicking (Message edited by bigun on March 10, 2005) I've been known to pinch a tail or two in my life!

Sorry been at the daughter's dance competition in BR since my last trip on Saturday. Her team did pretty well and looks like they will go to competition in San Antonio in July. Anyway the rest of the weekend went like this: Brought Genesis Crude Oil Customer Greg Kerry (not relation to John). Easy limit Friday morning despite some very high winds. Jumped on them early and limited with 50 by about 10:04. Not exactly sure of the color of bait but was a Tsunami paddletail with red eyes. They were absolutely tearing it up. Caught a few on H&H Opening Night cocahoes also. Saturday morning finds me back fishing with Jonathan with Genesis. Finally no wind this morning. Jumped on some trout quick but the wind suddenly picks up and trout stop biting. Have 19. Tried several more places with little caught. I get a bright idea. They are not in any of the canals they have been in. Let's go try floating the big bay all the canals empty into. What a great move. Limited in two passes on much nicer fish than we had caught in the canals the days before using purple and yellow H&H cocahoes and Saltwater Assassins. 50 more fish. I do have a couple of pictures but will have to get them straightened out. Will post later. Also, I finally got some reports that the Crappie are biting. Hopefully next weekend I'm going to be able to go to the freshwater camp and I can put a slaughter on them and post some freshwater pictures! Some of the fish from Friday hung at the Genesis camp. Not Texas size trout but they will fry well. These are probably the smallest trout we have caught in the past three weeks. The larger ones are obviously moving south and have been fished hard but I found them Saturday. Unfortunately wife had camera Sat due to last picture! Greg with some of the fish to prove he had been fishing! Greg is a bow hunting fanatic and we talked archery all day Friday while catching trout. He has a lease just south of San Angelo and has plenty of stories. A very enjoyable day. I'm very proud of my daughter who did very well at dance competition. She is the one sitting on the floor. Way to Go CAROLINE!

Way to go Caroline... I too am proud of you girl... Does the grease ever get a rest at the Bigun house.... These limits come way too easy down there... Congrats Bigun on putting them boys on some fun trout fishing and still finding time to be a part of what looks like a special time in Caroline's life. Great stuff... Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish
