Well the lonesome creek once again was calling my name so I was in and out the door at six o'clock Saturday morning. I caught 25 very quickly using a small feather jig 2 feet under a bobber. I took my 4 year old boy back later in the day and he yanked 16 of 'em out of this little creek. My step son who is 11 finally caved in and wanted some action and he caught him around 20 later on Saturday evening. We all went back Sunday morning and caught a darn good mess of fish. Total tally over the weekend.....80 crappie. It toook me a solid 2+ hours to fillet these fish out and bag them up. I don't think I will ever fillet 80 crappie at one time again. That was one heck of a chore.
A buddy of mine got back from Iraq last week and he hit this creek and caught a 6 pd. 4 oz. bass which he decided he wanted to put on the wall. Ok, now it's time for some pictures.

Talk about a honey hole of a little creek...

Congrats on a mess of crappie and a fine lesson learned when it comes to cleaning all that mess. I usually top it off around 40 fish or so because I hate cleaning that many. It would be hard tho on crappie to turn them back. That was 2 hours well spent for the fish that is to be fried...

Welcome back to your buddy and congrats on a fine bucketmouth... Please tell him thanks for his service -- I appreciate it.
Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

Sweet, I hope to make a crappie haul this weekend myself.
I've been known to pinch a tail or two in my life!

Well we have hit this creek two times this week in the evening and that action is starting to slow down dramatically. Another old timer has been fishing this creek every morning and he has to work for 'em pretty hard. I think the crappie have done their business up in the creek and are now heading out to open water. I'll fish it again this weekend and see what happens. It was fun while it lasted, that's for sure.

Man, that's some fine eating there! When is the fish fry, and how do we get there? :-)
