The San Antonio Bass Fishing clubs have gotten together and are taking burn victems and wounded soldiers from BAMC Hospital on Ft. Sam Army Base fishing on Choke Canyon on Saturday. They will be providing lunch for the soldiers as well as taking them out on the water to fish. They are still looking for volunteers. If anyone is interested in helping ( I think that they really need more boats) please let me know and I will put you in touch with my dad. Just a little something to say thanks for the scarifices these men and women have made for our freedom.

It sounds like a great cause, I sure wish I didn't live 6-7 hours away.

I wonder if there are soldiers in the Ft. Hood area that some of us North Texas could reproduce this effort for?

Sounds like a great plan, I definately am too far away to participate in this one.
Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

I talked to my dad this morning and he said that this was a great success. All the soldiers really enjoyed the trip. The soldier that my dad took out fishing placed 3rd in the big fish contest. He won a rod and reel. My dad said that you had to be there to see how much the soldiers really appriciated what was done for them. Hopefully they make this an annual trip. I am planning on getting involved next year if they do. I will post pictures if my dad sends me any.

Please do post them when you get them. That is awesome that it worked out so well. Hopefully next year I can participate.

I heard that Jay Yelas was there also...?

My dad said that there were a lot of pros there as well as camera crews. I'll be willing to bet that some type of show will be on TV about this trip.
