Bought myself a Honda 2000i generator yesterday to use primarily for night fishing for trout. Used it last night at the RR bridge at the Galveston causeway. I am impressed at how efficient and quiet it is. We were able to carry a conversation with each other even with it running and placed between us! I foresee a lot of night trips this summer.

For the fishing - that was not so impressive. We tried fishing in Greens but the water was like chocolate milk - also the wind had blown most of the water out and my boat was kicking mud and shell while on plane and jacked up. Scared me a little! We migrated to the causeway RR bridge for shelter from the wind and clearer water. We anchored down around the 6th arch on the Galveston side and on the east side of the bridge. As the sun set we fired up the generator and my 1000 watt studio light. We fished until around 8:30 but didn't see a trout or any thing like one. Lots of BIG FAT glass millows though. Water temp showed at 59 deg. I think it is still a little cold for the trout. Didn't go home empty handed though - I have a quart of fresh shrimp! Gonna boil them tonight! Tasty Snack!
All In A Days Fun!!!

I've been wanting to buy one and night fish around here in the winter time. Bet it would be killer. You buy it locally or order it off internet?

the nikota generator from pepboys is a 3500w 6.5 hp gen, and i use it to run 2000-3000 watts of lights whole bowfishing. we had it and the honda side by side and it is a little louder, but it cost 325.00 out the door. i think the honda is around 1500.00. they are harder to find(we have had one on order for a while) but i think for the price difference it is well worth it(not trying ot ramrod yer thread)
my fat fingers cant spell

I'll probably turn into a floating turd and Picou will break the knob off my post counter immediately. ATW 2/10/05
