Ok folks, there has been some dates thrown around for our site gathering and various names offered. For some reason, Fishapalooza just does not do it for me so I am calling it a Frenzy -- because that is how I feel trying to figure it all out... 
1st Annual FTN Fish Frenzy
Date: May 7 & 8 (for those who want to stay the night)
Location: Probably Fairfield -- depending on availability. Richland Chambers will be my second choice.
The primary day will be Saturday where we will cook crawfish, fry some crappie, consume some beverages, tell stories, have a great time. There will be fishing involved and families are welcome (encouraged actually).
I will be bringing my family and we will camp for the weekend. Since this is the first one, I am completely and totally unprepared. I need as much help as possible to get this thing to go smoothly.
Please let us know if you will be coming and if you will be needing a campsite or not. I will try and reserve adjacent sites for the weekend.

Sounds good to me. Can you let us know as soon as possible the prices on campsites, etc? I sure would appreciate it.

It took me hours to come up with Fishapalozza and then you change it. I am not coming for this very reason. 
I'll be there and we can fry some more NADS if demand warrants. I will be there with or without boat. I can always man camp and throw some surfrods from the shore. No telling what might swim by. |

Just looked at mapquest. That would still be a hike for me since I'm suppose to be going to Wes in two more weekends and follow that up with the annual Alabama/La fishing/gambling/drinkoff in Grand Isle, La event the weekend after. Will have to see.
I've been known to pinch a tail or two in my life!

I will probably bring my youngest son and will need 1 spot to throw our tent.

I'm not going. I was going to go to bring Bigboy for something nice before he gets shipped off to Florida but he got his report card yesterday and let me tell you he is not going anywhere no time soon.

honestly, the fishfrenzy needs to be a twice or more a year event. there is no way i could make it and still have childern, which is a big concern (see disclamer below). so the seccond BI annual fishfrenzy needs to be the second weekend in may.
seriously-- i know a date had to be set, but it seems that a large percentile of the group will not be able to make it. so i propose we meet in San Angelo the next weekend for a bowfishingcrappiefrenzie. yes no any suggestions?
i really want to meet yall, but mothers day, my mom dosent like to fish that much, and, well fill in the rest.

Since we only have a total of about 20-30 members that post frequently, I think it will be a couple more years before the frenzy turns into the event that bownanza has become. Going by those who have posted on this thread, only about 10-12 site members could even make it.
There will always be conflicting schedules, and there is no way to have 100% in attendance every year. Now, that being said, it's up to Mike.
Mike, let us know if we are shooting for something more northern (fishing on Tawakoni has been rockin' lately), another date, or whatever you want to do. However, there is no way for me to "lead us to victory" if you and I are not in touch on the details. Did you get my e-mail about the shirts? I've started a new job, so I need to be able to line out my time very carefully. So, let me know what we're doing, and we can go from there. I'm happy to help!

I talked to my shirt person and then got swamped again at work. Then that baby horse, now my wife is gone to Vegas... I don't know what way to turn.
This started out as a crawfish boil so maybe we should just scale back to a boil and maybe some fishing if we can get that in also. I really want to have a get together with a representation from all over the state one of these days but maybe it is not in the cards for right now.
Is there a place at Tawakoni with running water and maybe picnic tables that we could use as a day facility?

They have built a new State Park on the south side of the lake. It's a little ways away from the good fishing, but it's only a couple of years old, so the facility itself should still be in excellent condidtion. I can post some specifics on it and get some more info, too.

Here's a link to the state park. It does have a space that can be rented for groups of 35 or more. It also has campsites, running water, and RV hook-ups. I'll try to call today and find prices and other info.
