Weatherman could not have been more wrong about the winds today. Absolutely not a breathe. Good thing Damon, my bro-in-law Mark, and myself decided to go fishing. Bigboy was suppose to come too but he can't figure out how to make good grades or dress for PE. How do you FAIL PE? Anyway, we decided to go try for some trout and reds but the trout did not cooperate. But the reds did. The problem was finding them under 27". PQ, IS THIS REALLY A PROBLEM?
Boat of choice today was Damon's & what a sweet ride:

Mark and Damon on way out
We got to the first stop Damon decides on which I veto but he fishes anyway. No bait, no fish to catch. I talk him into moving about a mile further. Bait everywhere and it does not take long for me to strike! ATW, notice the topwater bait in his mouth. Getting the urge for July yet! Also notice I'm not the only one hooked up!

Well, we ended up with 12 reds but caught around 20 having to release the others due to can only keep 3 over 27". Mark and Damon missed plenty too! I only caught four but did not miss any. I just could not get it going today.

Anyway I get back and we clean fish and I looked around and immediately thought of Rob so had to take a picture. I wonder if Damon would let me bring it to Seguin next weekend to drag to the river.

Not a bad mess of fish!
Fillets

Unfortunately I can't go back tomorrow. I have to boil crawfish for my wife's work office tomorrow. Free crawdad's and beer. Almost an even trade for enabling me from going back fishing! :-) I lead a rough life!

I can't see this group gambling!

Larger Under 27", Largest over 27", first fish caught, quantity, or combo of these? I know I'm not betting on who eats the most Boudin! I've seen Rob in action. :-)
