Um... I... Uh.... NEVER!!!!!!!!!!!! Yea' right... I have never done it in my skeeter, but my record shows that I will do it at least 1 time per boat I own. I did it with my first and second boat once each. I almost did this year but remembered as I was backing down the ramp. There was nobody there, so I just stopped and screwed the plug in before continuing down the ramp. Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

I forgot mine on Montecello(sp) one year. I think mike was with me. It was cold 35degress or something like that. I finally was able to get the boat up on plane, drained some of the water out of the boat. dropped mike off to get the truck, ran the boat back out on the lake while he backed the truck down. we put the boat back on the trailer and sat there and let water drain out for about 30 minutes. Then there was the time that mike forgot to latch the hitch on the trailer...... |

It was your boat/trailer... You cannot blame me for not latching the tounge. Yes, I vividly remember the day at Monticello... We could have boated 10 more fish in the time it took to drain the water out of that boat... Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

let's see... YOU put the trailer on the ball... YOU hooked up the lights... YOU hooked up the chains.. I was supposed to latch the hitch. Your right, knowing you I should have double checked it. |

Knock on wood I have never had that happen. I have a question though why could you not go ahead and put your plug in the boat on the inside? I know in our boats you could get to it if that were to happen. |

Big_P on my boat you can't get to the plug hole from the inside. And it was too cold to jump in the water and do it. |

A buddy of mine and myself were in his boat fishing away when I noticed water coming out of the center floor drain...when I lifted the battery compartment lid and seen it was full of water..gulp..about that time a game warden pulled up and wanted to check the live wells for fish..hehehe, he understood the trouble and said have a nice day if possible. We got the boat back on the trailor and fixed the problem. Brush that we had been fishing in pulled one of those old pop up style plugs out, he never used that style again. |

I forgot the first time I put my new boat in the water. Had some friends with me. I launched the boat with my buddy driving it and parked the truck. When I got in the boat and hit the throttle it just didn't seem to have any power.About that time I looked down and saw water in the bottom and then remembered the plug.About the same time the game warden wanted to see my fire extinguisher, hear the horn, and check life preservers. Thought I was going to sink before he finished with me. I never did that again. |

Mike u know Aubrey dupree... my stepdad .. 1 time we were out fishin and we had launched out at the fire station over here in Houma when we got the boat off the trailer i tired it up 2 the dock while aubrey went and parked the truck... to me it looked like the boat waz gettin lower and lower in the water but i didn't think nothin about it but when aubrey got bac 2 the boat and steped in, water came POURIN in on the sides so he gets in and starts up the boatand runs back and forth down the canal 2 see if he could get the water out and while he was goin he would go to the bac of the boat and see if he could find the hole 2 put the plug in... it was so funny. I promise u it'll be a day he'll never forget !!! |

I did it on Fork in my brand new bass boat. Was sitting out under bridge in about 30 ft of water waiting on my dad to get launched when I realized I had problems. Good thing I had plenty of HP to get it standing up. I'm sure I have done it a few more times in boats that did not matter. The year we were in Gurrero (spelling?) in Mexico they had put one of the flip style plugs on the outside of an old Wellcraft. MISTAKE! Ran clear across the Lake. We were fishing up next to a waterfall. Could not hear the bilge pump going off and on. The closest I've ever came to drowning while in a boat. If that boat was not overrated by about 100 hp, it would have been on the bottom of the lake in 50 ft of water. Best part found out after my uncle can't swim. As Mike and Wes could attest he would have drowned. Ain't nobody going to keep Pac floating. |
