Well, I played home room mother for my daughters kindergarten field trip yesterday. We went to the Gainsville Zoo. When we arrived we found at least 7 other schools already there. So the challenge was on to keep up with the 17 kids in her class. We were lucky that there was a nice breeze blowing. This helped with the smell from the zoo and that many kids.

The day went well. We made it back with all the kids and no injuries. Here's a few pics I took during the day.

Here's mine leaning over the fence.

I actually spelled it wrong in my first post. It is Gainesville and it is located north of Ft. Worth. The Zoo has been there for a long time. I believe a hunter named Frank Buck started it. The zoo got a lot of attention in 1980 when an elephant survived a flood in the zoo by holding its trunk above the water line until the water came back down. The have recently made some additions and its a little nicer than it used to be. They have a big park with one of the nicest playgrounds I've seen. It's a nice place to go if you live close, but wouldn't be worth an hour or longer drive.

Looks like a great time Mark. Cudos to you for being a part of it. I had no idea that Gainsville had a zoo. Looks like a nice place. Would be worth the drive to not deal with the metromess crowds at the dallas or Ft. Worth zoo...

Thanks for sharing with us...
Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish
