My company had a picnic at Collin Park on Lavon yesterday and some of us with boats decided to take the boats and try our luck with the sandbass. We participated in the picnic and then headed out. The winds were tough and it was a fun ride to the island but we did manage to catch some fish. Nothing notable but out of the dozen or so fish that I caught 4 or 5 were over 10". I did not keep any nor did the other guys. We did take one newbie to fishing and he caught just as many as everyone else so he had a great time. Maybe he will be hooked now and take his kids fishing and the cycle will begin. No pictures because I had my storage box locked and could not get off the trolling motor long enough to unlock it. I took a few waves over the bow while fishing and the trolling motor was coming completely out of the water in and out of the waves. It was still nice to get out and be on the water. Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

It has been pretty windy our there lately. On side note, you interested in fishing the Thursday Night tournaments with me? |
