I am taking the family out to Texoma this afternoon and wanted to extend an offer to anyone interested in coming out also. We will probably launch from HighPort and fish the islands and coves around there. I am hoping the stripers will turn on in the evening or at least the sandbass...

We will hopefully grab dinner in either Pottsborro or Denison so that will be another opportunity to get together if you can't make it to the lake.

I didn't see this until I got to work tonight. Had a kids birthday party earlier so I couldn't make it anyway. How did you guys do?

We had a great time and I wish I would have had the camera out at the boat ramp -- lots of nice things to take pictures of... :-)

We got to the lake around 5:00pm & rode around the lake for a while just having a great time looking for birds. Decided to pull up to an island and let the kids work off some energy while Connie and I enjoyed a beer.

After playing for a while the birds started working between us and the Texas shoreline so we loaded back into the boat and headed over there. The fish were not big but they were plentiful. We were all catching fish so it was a great time.

And although we were fishing for stripers we could not get away from the bass. :-)

My wife has never touched a fish without a glove on her hand... It took some serious coercing to get her to hold this fish for the picture... :-)

We ended up boxing 9 fish (small ones) and tossed a whole lot more of them back in the water. They were fussing with every fish I threw back so we started keeping some. The good news is that it convinced them that we needed to come back in the morning to get enough to amount to a decent fish fry...
