We got up and decided to go fishing this morning...kind of spur of the moment! We caught a few, but mostly we had an adventure!

We decided to do some trolling for stripers. My nephew, Ryan, caught this 5-7 pounder. His first real striper and his first fish on a down-rigger.

Then we made our way over into the trees. On one of Ryan's first casts, he got hung up on the bottom...or so we thought! Turns out he had hooked this 20-25 pound catfish. Gina finally got him to the boat, as Keith and I netted him. Ryan would not touch him...or get anywhere even close to him. But we admired the big cat from afar! :-)

We all caugt several various types of fish. I think we all caught some sandies, stripers, and hybrids. Ryan also ended up catching a drum that didn't quite make it into the boat, but Keith saw the fish and verified!

We are all sunburned to a crisp, but have an adventure filled morning to show for it!

What a trip! I love to see the look of excitement and joy in a kids face when they catch fish, especially biguns! Glad you guys had a good time.

Ryan and I had a good time and everyone was catching fish at different times during the trip.
This is the second time I've got to go fishing this year and the first time for Ryan. I hope we get to go many more times.

That is an awesome catfish there Ryan and a darn nice striper to boot... I bet he is hooked for life now. Way to go guys, looks like a great time on the water. I am going to bend the rules and issue a RB award to Ryan for that monster catfish.

This one is for you Ryan...

Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

Nice fish. Thanks for sharing.
If you're richer than me I think we're related. If you're poorer than me I know we're related.
