I met Ozziefish and some other friends out there yesterday and got some autographs and watched the weigh in. Got to chat with some of the pros afterwards and it was pretty cool. Well, this morning when my girls saw my cap they were dissapointed I did not take them. So, I took off of work a little early and picked the girls up to go see the pros.

This is a pretty big event and I am really impressed with everything they put into this. What is to follow is just a pictoral review of our experience -- lots of pics... :-) I spent some time talking to Mark Taylor today but like a moron I never took a picture with the girls -- too busy talking about fishing. :-) Great guy and I enjoyed chatting with him. Last night I also talked to Zell Roland and he gave me some insight for the skeeter next weekend.

Every one of these guys were very happy to take pictures with kids and fans, very willing to sign anything, and pleasant to talk to. The girls had a blast and want to go back tomorrow. They want to fish tournaments with me also... :-)

Lastly, I will need to break in a new cap now because these guys wrote all over my old one...

Man, you got some good pictures. Wish I had been able to go. Things that had to be done took priority. Glad you guys had a good time.

They have a "real time" leaderboard if anyone is interested. It keeps up with how many fish that they've caught and how many they've kept. It doesn't give an estimated weight, though.

Nothing makes a fish bigger than almost being caught.

I see Mr. Rowland still has the same signature after all these years. I met him at Barlows about 9 years ago and he signed with the pop-r back then. I wanted to make it to one of the weigh-ins but opted to go fishing at ray roberts instead.

So how many of the guys said they would visit the site when they got back home? We need some big names on this site.

Sturm, all I have left are the tan caps -- Caps N Stickers.

Mark, I spent some time talking to Mark Tyler and he said he would try and look up the site when he got home. I am sure that he has many site names to remember so if he makes it here I would pleasantly suprised. Those guys meet so many people during these events that I would imagine it would be tough to remember addresses. I should have had a card with the URL so that if he really wanted to come visit the board it would be easy.

Zell Rowland puts some serious effort into that signature. Several of the pros commented on it when they were signing. It was pretty cool to talk to Larry Nixon about his fishing that day. It is funny to hear them talk about it being a tough day when have a livewell full w/ a limit. :-)

Several of them got to sign 4 different FTN caps so maybe the web site stuck. :-) Tyler was the only one to ask about it though.

Mike looks like you guys had lots of fun. Here is a link to Brian Snowden's web site. He posts a recap of all his tournaments. I have a trip scheduled with him in July. Going to do a "Day on the water" type article. Glad you made it over. Great pics.

hmmm...........

Probably never. Doubt it would be worth anything. Is there really that level of a following for bass fishing?

Hmmm... Set the reserve to like $200 and post the pictures. Nobody would pay that amount but lots of people would see the website address...
