While I had planned on going redfishing in Dularge La Friday morning with my 9 and 3 yr old but my 9 yr old and 5 month old both woke up vomitting about 3 am in the morning. I got to stay home taking care of my 3 kids (2 sick) instead. Saturday was ruined by the high winds of Arlene. We did not get any rain or bad weather off of it but the winds really blew out of the East which really dirties everything up around here. I planned on going fishing Sunday afternoon and went got my boat and cleaned better than it has ever been cleaned in the 5 years I owned it (it really needed it). Well my wife decides I fish enough and told me I really did not need to go fishing and that she needed to go to work! But I turned it around and brought the kids swimming at my fishing buddies house and drank a few adult beverages. They had a blast and I even had a good time. Forgot to take some pictures. Sorry! Well woke up this morning and now I'm feeling sick! What a weekend! I've been known to pinch a tail or two in my life!

SIMEK everything looking good for your trip. This storm pulled a bunch of reds up in the marsh from all reports. They are still a little jittery but when the heat of July starts they will start eating everything in their site where there is tide. I'm looking for an absolute redfish slaughter by you guys so start praying to the wind gods that it is slick that weekend and Start working out your wrists and elbows! Of course all of this means we will be lucky to catch one probably. Kind of like Wes' stories about deer coming out with their mouths open waiting on the feeders to go off! I've been known to pinch a tail or two in my life!

Man I can't wait! Gave the word to work that the 7 - 10 of July is mine. So Wade, any tackle places there we might need to swing by on the way down? I know the locals there have all kinds of tricks up their sleeves in regards to colors and such. |

ROB, nothing special needed. I'm fully stocked and loaded. Bring whatever rods you can throw the farthest loaded with 12-20 lb test due to you want all the distance you can get and I will take care of the rest. Copper Rex spoons and LSU cocahoes is the main stay with a few top water baits mixed in. I've been known to pinch a tail or two in my life!
