This weekend the family and I went fishing and man it was hot and the water was choppy! The neighbor had asked if we caught any hard heads or gaff top if we would let him have them. That is what we mostly caught. Then my oldest son felt a strong tug so he reeled in his line to find a half eaten sand trout. He then stated that he was going to throw the half eaten fish back into the water for bait.

He then felt another strong tug and so he reeled it in only to find only the head left. Once again he stated that he was going to use the rest for bait and catch that shark that had eaten his fish. About 15 minutes later he felt another strong tug and this time it was hooked and taking line! He fought this fish for over 30 minutes and this was what he caught!

His first Bull Red, it was 38" long and weight 21 lbs. Needless to say that the boys out fished momma and I. Michael caught the biggest fish, Kevin caught 8 fishes which we gave to the neighbors. The wife and I caught only four fishes put together and they were small. Over all we had and great time and a dinner! All of this meat was from one side of the Bull Red.

I am taking the wife out today for bay trip and tomorrow for 1/2 day off shore. Hopefully she can catch something to get her hooked again!! She hasn't been since - November??

Ya, the boy was pretty tired after bringing in the fish. I believe he is using 20 lbs. test. This is his first big fish that he has caught on his new rod and reel, what a way to break it in.
