I ate supper with my good Friend Kerry Lebouef Thur evening and I talked him into not going to work and coming fishing with me for a while. I promised I would have him back at the launch by 10. Well we had a nice ride through the marsh getting there about 6:20 am or so.
marsh ride
marsh area we caught fish
Nothing special going on for about the first 1/2 mi of the drift but we hit a grass flat and IT'S ON! Reds are thicker than biscuits in a gravy factory! Easy ten fish limit with Kerry missing a bunch of fish on a spinner bait (they just pull to hard in the grass for spinner baits) and at least twenty throwbacks and it's only 8:00.
Can U work and have fun at the same time?

reds
Had Kerry back at home by 10 so that he could go back to Work! He was overjoyed.

Had the fortune of bring three teens from Lampasas, Tx (sp?) looking for redfish Sat AM. All I know about Lampasas is I believe that is where WIDE CLYDE came from. They were very nice Young boys and a pleasure to fish with. Unfortunately fishing was not so EASY this weekend for my charters. Very low morning tide made it impossible to get into the marsh with a bay boat to get to the fish caught Friday. I fished all the main bays and it was just deserted looking out. I caught my five reds pretty easily but had a hard time getting my client's on them despite their best efforts. Wound up cathing 11 reds with several misses and 4 trout Saturday but it was a hard effort and fished from 6 am to nearly 1:30 pm. Hopefully this is not a sign of things to come and once the moon and tides swing around the fish will be back on fire.

I brought two of the Tx teens back Sun AM and my customer's son Sun AM but had strict rules that they were to be back by 9am due to the drive back. Fishing was slow just like Saturday but we did get into one pack of fish catching 6 and missing 4. All in all everyone had a good time and the boys really enjoyed the crazy ride through the marsh! Not something they see everyday.

Nice fish Bigun. It's amazing how fast you can put a limit in the boat.
