I leave for WY Saturday and plan on taking a light action spinning rod. What kind of baits should I take? Anyone with any experience fishing any of the lakes up there? Maybe something like a road-runners?

I would stop at a local fly shop and listen to their recommendations.

There won't be any fly shops where I am going. I would love to learn to fly fish but this is a family vacation and I dont want to take much time away from my girls. We will hike around one of the lakes and I was going to pack a spinning rod with hopes of catching something.

No experience but would love to experience it. I would think an small fish baits would work. I know that roadrunners and little hair jigs work excellent for some guys I know around here that go to Co every year.
It kinda looks like a SNOOK!

I bet you would be fine with some feather jigs and roostertails. Brown/yellow feather jig works great for me in Missouri rivers for trout, bass, perch, etc...

Good luck and looking forward to the reports
Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

I will stop by Wally World and see what they have. I cant wait. I checked the temp for WY 45 to 85 degrees. If I catch something, fine, if not, fine. I will consume adult beverages and relax. NO PHONES.........
I can't wait to see Yellowstone again. If any of you guys have never gone it is a MUST SEE.
