Hey folks, I havn't been on the board much for several months but I do look in now and again. I'm giving some thought to taking my girlfriend fishing this weekend, and was hoping for a little help. We'll probably go to Ray Roberts for some sand bass or catfishing cuz we want to eat'em when we're done. I used to bass fish there alot but I havn't chased the sandies in years and never been much of a catfisherman. Anybody been on the sandbass lately at Ray Bob, where at and what on? Favorite whiskerfish bait, and what type of spots? I guess Eagle Mountain and Grapevine are also possibilities if someone can put me on a spot, but I know Ray Bob alot better. Thanks for any help. Fishing is alot like sex: Even when it's bad it's still pretty good!

D'Mo, Ray Bob this time of year is sand bass early and late. Look for them on main lake points. If you want to use your electronicsto find them during the day, explore the open water and look for humps or long points and find the balls of baitfish. They are usually under those big balls of bait. Early and late they will give themselves away by surface feeding so look for the birds. I have never fished for kitty kats there so I can not help you on that one. Good luck and post some pics bro... Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

I'm a huge catfisherman so youre in luck.i aint ever fished that lake before for cats so my info may kinda be different.are yall bank fishing or using a boat?also whatre yall wanting to catch, blues, channels, yellas?i fish travis a bunch for blues and channels and do alright with cutbait from perch, also this bait you can get at walmart called premos,or get you some punch bait by dany king or benny roberts caue thats stuff pretty good, also if you got a feedstore near by go there and get some cattle cubes but make sure theyre 20% protein and toos a few of those out everynow and then for chum and youll more than likely get some channels in.also if youre fishing during the day catfish aint bottom feeders like most people think,in summer theres a thermocline in the water and theyll suspend on that during the day so if you find that youre in the money.i got alot more info but i probably gave you more than you needed.pretty good for a 17 year old huh? No problem Wade, and I'm gonna get down to da bottom o da boot and fish with ya one of these days. Thanks for the info yall, I remember the main lake points and humps, just didn't know if they were schooling consistantly anywhere in particular early or late. Seems like I used to run into'em over at the mouth of the creek that the "other" state park is on. I'll write down those cat baits redneck, we'll be in the boat, not sure if we'll be fishing at night or not but I hope so. Fishing is alot like sex: Even when it's bad it's still pretty good!
