Myself and a few buddies from work took some kayaks out to Town Lake (Austin), with 35 waterdogs to try our luck with some big bass. I tossed a 6" waterdog 3' off of a big Cypress Tree on the South Bank, and within 2 minutes my rod tip jumped and my line was racing across the water. I reeled in the slack and set the hook as hard as I could. Everytime this fish would pull, he would tug my kayak around! I finally landed him after an incredible fight and put him on the scale, the scale read 8.15 lbs and the fish was 26 1/2" long. I released the bass for someone else to catch but I'm having a replica mount done I think.

Rob, you know that concrete launch right by Austin High, off of Mopac? Right there. We fished Barton Springs for a solid hour and a half without any luck.

Thanks for the comments guys, I'm still pumped about that bass. I keep replaying getting pulled around by that thing in my head :-).

Whoa!
Awesome fish Chad, TL is where I fish.
Thought I was the only dude that used waterdog tactics on Town Lake. :-)
Thanks for letting her go.
I missed the lake record by 7 ounces with this girl. Let her go too.

We should round up the whole Austin gang and hit the lake before deer season starts.

Congrats on a great fish.

Clark, wow thats a huge fish. Awesome looking water where you were in that picture. Just let me know when and ahead of time if possible so I can make sure that I'm off of work, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

Thanks for the comments everyone, it will be awhile I'm sure before I beat this one.

Ya'll wear 'em out guys. Ya'll have a great spot right out your backdoor for some quality fish. I always enjoy the pics. I may have to borrow my sis-in-law's yak and come down there and fish with ya'll sometime.
Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish
