Hey Bigun, We made our first trip to Kansas last week to start checking out some of the public hunting areas. After driving through the big lake and Neosho wildlife areas we stopped and talked with the mined land wildlife area manager. He sugested hunting the mined land over Neosho. Real nice guy, he ended up making us some photo copies of some satellite photos of the wildlife area. He also recommended staying in Parsons. If I remember right I beleive you said you had family that lived in that area. We did a little walking around in the mined land area. It's rugged but looks to be good hunting land. If you have any more info about the area we are looking for any way to get an edge on the other out of state hunters. If you're richer than me I think we're related. If you're poorer than me I know we're related. My bass club webpage http://texbass.8m.com/

I don't talk to them often but I'll see what I can find out. The one time I went thru there that is the area I would think you would want to hunt. Their are a lot of deer in that area. Good luck. It kinda looks like a SNOOK!

All I know is the deer up there eat well. Nothing but corn and bean fields. The wildlife manager said deer in the 250 to 280 pound range are common in the area. If you're richer than me I think we're related. If you're poorer than me I know we're related. My bass club webpage http://texbass.8m.com/

Yes, that is a fact. You will have no problem finding trails they are using. They will be scraped to all heck and look like cows have been using them. The trails really show up after they cut the corn and milo or get a little snow to make the ground wet. It kinda looks like a SNOOK!

Biggun is right. You will find TONS of scrapes along those trails, esp along the edges of the cut fields!! Love to fish and hunt.
