Dean, you need to think about how far you are going to try and take that boat. If you are going to hang out in the bay then that would suffice. I would be a little nervous going out the jetties in any jon boat.

You can get some pretty nice center console jon boats that will get you out to the jetties to fish on most days but the ride will be rougher and wetter than you are use to.
Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

HEck Picou there was an old Loan Star boat at the end of the jetties this past Tuesday. When we went offshore Saturday there were john boats 30 miles out at the rigs.

I'm not quite that brave - but it makes me sick to think the gulf is that flat and I have no boat and no money...

I am thinking around the jetties primarily. I too am nervous about that because I have seen the bay between the ramp and the jetteis get pretty rough! I was looking at a 17' sea hunt buit that is $18K new.

If my Ranger doesn't sell pretty soon I might just bite the bullet and get the new Grady.

I am going to go and give the 25' cuddy another consideration. I wonder if it has shore power and can be A/C'd? Then I could sleep on it before I head out early.

PLUSS - Then it becomes a second home and can host a variety of write offs. I wonder if the fuel and such can be written off?

So - I guess - If I get the Grady without the sleeping quarters I can still write it off? Under what clasification?
