Well, we had a blast at the lease this weekend dispite the opportunities for disaster.

My youngest daughter had a rough weekend on horseback. Her horse kept turning around so my wife put the lead rope on her and was walking down the trail when my wife's horse kicked at the new horse and hit Corey in the process... When that happened, Corey's horse jumped and Corey hit the ground... She got over it quickly and they were riding fine once again. When they got to the lease house, Corey was leading her horse to the trap and she stumbled and tipped. While she was on the ground her horse stepped on her leg -- scared the you know what out of me to hear my daughter scream and hear the other one yelling mommy... come quick.... Fortunately, it was on the edge of the leg and just scrapped the skin and bruised. Well, as if that all was not bad enough, Sunday they rode around the lease while I worked on stands and feeders. Just about back to the house Corey was not watching the path and her horse walked under a tree that knocked her off the horse (apparently doesn't take much to knock her off) and Corey fell face first onto the gravel road. Now she has a bruised leg and scratched up face -- all for the first day of school today. She still wants to ride, I just hope she gains some coordination (she takes after her mother )

Anyway, we did get a chance to do some fishing while at the lease. It was tough getting around the pond but we managed to land 20 - 30 fish in the hour or so we fished. I'm here to tell ya', I was not prepared for the fish we caught in that pond. I can't wait to get back out there and see what else that pond has in store for us...

Here are some pictures

Jessica and her Monster -- look real hard

Corey and her whopper -- believe me, there is a fish there...

And my wall hanger -- I'm not thumbin the fish, more like fingernailin...

We all had a great time this weekend and I got a little work done on the place. The girls are very eager to get back out there. They wanted to fish again on Sunday but we ran out of time.
Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

She is a trooper and even after falling off on the road, she got back on and they rode down to where I was hanging tree stands at my feeder.

I'm trying to get on TBH to post some trail camera pics. They appear to be having some problems still....

Looks like y'all had a great time...even with Corey hittin' the ground a few times. I'm glad she's OK. I think that last pic should be your new profile pic...you know...to show off your outstanding ability to catch such trophy fish, and all!!! :-)

Anyone can catch a fish with a mouth large enough to swollow any bait... It takes skill and finess to get one that the hook is bigger than their mouth -- and have it hooked in the lip...

Chicken, that was the first time to fish it, so the biggest was about a 5 inch goggle-eye.

Humper, you wish is my command...

I started out with a fluke jr and I was catching these little monsters, some foul hooked but others were hooked in the mouth with a 2o hook. It was when I went back with the family later that day that I put on the black/chart tube jig. Even my wife caught one but she forbid me from posting the picture. Most of them were in the 2 - 3 inches. I think next time I will have a catfish rod hooked up and as soon as I catch one of these little fish I will hook it in the back and chunk it out for catfish.

I was told that there are some crappie in the tank but we did not find any that day.

Scooter, yes... you need to take the camera. I will be sending you some email soon about Missouri.

At least the saddle was properly on the horse this time. Connie must have put it on! Sounds like a good time and nice lease.
