While at Rayburn last week I stuck a nice bass and the reel seat broke. I'm not even going into the show the bass put on while I was trying to hang onto nothing but a reel. What is the lastest greatest rods for worming. This was a fairly high dollar Berkley that broke. The wife uses castaway and AllStar.

I like all three brands you talked about. I love my allstart and castaway for just about everything. I love a Berkley lightning rod myself for true worm fishing but don't use much weight around here to worm fish and purely Texas rigged worming. They may not be heavy enough for carolina rigging. Just my opinion. I'm sure others will have other suggestions.

My favorite worm rod is an original falcon series rod. It's the Mark Davis signature rod. I don't know if Mark's signature is on it anymore so the code for it is FC-6-166. I'm sure the Cara rods are probably better but this one is a lot cheeper if you're short on cash.

I've always used the Falcon FC-7-17, the IM6s(gold) were the best, but I don't think they make'em anymore.

Sounds like some solid advice already given. I have several castaways, falcons, and a couple of all stars. I like them all. For worming I would stay at 6' to 6.5' med to med/hvy for a lure weight 1/8 oz to 3/4 oz. I prefer to worm fish with as litte weight as possible so I like the softer tip w/ a decent spine. My split-shot rid is a 6' med St. Croix and I have horsed some 8 pounders out with it.

Sucks that you broke the rod but look at the bright side... you get to by a new one... :-)
Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish
