Spanked the speckle trout this morning out of Dularge, La. Two man Limit of 50 by 8:35 am without even breaking a sweat. All caught on Tsunami opening evening color. Mark (brother in law) had never caught trout like this before. They were all over the tops of the water chasing shrimp and pogie. It's great to be back on the water chasing fish again after all the storm's have did their thing and got the bow bug out of my system a little. Simek let me know at Capote last weekend that all he needed was an hour warning to make it down here so of course I had to call to let him know his hour warning was on hand. Forgot the camera this morning in all my excitement to go fishing. Will have it tomorrow for another speckle trout report. Same trout time, same trout channel! Stay tuned.

Remembered the camera this AM but unfortunately the fish did not cooperate. It was a beautiful morning.
Cajun sunrise!
However the boats are out in full force! This is the most boats I have seen in a long time. Apparently everyone is coming fishing here due to reports and the fact that this is the only bayou in South La that did not just get totally devastated. Camera does not do justice to the # of boats on the horizon.

But Duncan had a good time anyway even though the fish did not cooperate. Wound up with eleven keepers and about 15 throw backs. Nothing like yesterday.
My nephew Duncan
Cleaned up the fish and then realized I never took any fish pictures. So this is the next best thing. The first thing I did when I walked in the house was turn on the fryer. Nothing like fresh speckle trout with a little Barnacle dust! I'm full now and ready for the LSU/Fl game to start! Geaux Tigers!!!

It really is a snook!!!!

Fresh fish and the Tigers won. Sounds like you're having a good weekend so far.

Went back out this afternoon due to I needed to go get my boat out the water and had agreed I would bring the girls out fishing this afternoon earlier in the week. My dad, my 9 yr old, my 4 yr old, and myself got on the water around 2:30 pm this afternoon. Very slow fishing day. Just as many boats out running around as Saturday however they apparently had already figured out the trout were not going to bite where we caught them Fri AM. Water had dirtied up and they have brought a suction barge into the closest canal getting ready to do some dredging of something. Tried other spots in the lake finding cleanier water but no more fish than anywhere else. We fished until 5:15 pm for 11 speckle trout and one red. Left early to get the kids back home in time for bath and bed. No tide and just all the boats all weekend apparently put an end to all the trout at this spot early Fri AM. I'll be back next weekend looking again.

Some people just know how to live.

I'm glad you called, Wade. Any chance to talk to the legend is a chance I'll gladly take.

Tell your daughter the cast is cool, and I just might have to break my arm to get one like it.
