i usually run a 2.5 hp motor on my 12 foot john boat but i was given a 3 hp today and was wondering if theres really a difference in speed between the 2,either way though im gonna use both of the motors just figured id ask the question.

I don't really know. I doubt you would see much difference though.

If there is a significant difference in age of the motors you might see some difference. Have fun and take a camera with you... :-)

by the looks of the 3 horse its way older so i dont know if it will be faster or slower.
