We were planning on being there for this morning's hunt but after my daughter's basketball game last weekend -- another victory -- we decided that the girls should be there for there next game. They only have 6 girls on their basketball team and two of them are going hunting with me this weekend. I would hate to be the reason they broke their undefeated record. We are leaving straight from the BB game and headed to Jacksboro to try and put my daughter and her best friend on their first deer. I'll give a report when we get back. Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

Well, we had a great time and saw a few deer but it just did not work out in our favor from a harvest standpoint. Had 3 doe come to our hand corn this morning but they never crossed into our shooting lane. They were as close as 35 yards but no shot was possible -- it was really nice to hunt in the rain though.... This afternoon we sat a different stand and had the wide 8 buck I have a bunch of pictures of and although we possibly could have pulled off a shot, we never lifted the rifle. Saw a yote on Saturday evening but no deer where seen on that hunt. We had a great time and Jessica told me at least 10 times that the best part of the weekend was spending time with her daddy. When those doe came that close and no shot opportunity came out of it, the adrenalin surge hit her and she started shaking... It was funny and great to see her excitement. Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

I took JP and his 9year old son out this afternoon. While driving around to check on the feeders, he made a great shot on a doe at about 80yards with a 3030. They sat in a blind for the evening hunt, but didn't see any other deer. Doe was a 100lbs live weight, I will post a pic when JP sends them to me. |

Great job guys. Sounds like time well spent. If you're richer than me I think we're related. If you're poorer than me I know we're related. My bass club webpage http://texbass.8m.com/

Good going guys. I made a good duck hunt Friday morning and then got rained on the rest of the weekend here. Forgot the camera of course. Quit being a mad, little bald man!
