Wes and I made a last minute decision to meet up at Purtis Creek today since he and I both will be covered up for the next several weeks. I arrived at the ramp a little earlier than Wes and the lake was foggy. Since Wes brought the beer, it took us about a half hour to let it cool down before the fishing could really begin. It was not long after we knocked back our second or third cold one when Wes exclaimed, "I wonder if that is a fish swimming off with my line..." He set the hook on our first fish of the day. We spent the rest of the morning finishing the 18 pack and not catching any more fish. We did however have a hilarious conversation with Wade on speaker phone. It was not long and Wes broke away with a 4 to 0 fish lead. Fortunately, I was able to put 3 fish in the boat, but not before Wes solidified his lead by placing yet another fish in the boat. All said and done, we had 8 fish and one hell of a good time on the lake today. I had a great time Wes and I look forward to the next time we get out on the lake. It was one tuff drive home, I can only imagine your haul. The boat is back in the garage and batteries are on charge. Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

Wes definately schooled me yesterday... All 3 of my fish were caught in the same spot within a 15 minute period. At least Wes spaced his fish out a little more. Of course, the beating would have been even more brutal had he actually caught the 3 or 4 he missed/lost. Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

8 fish on February 2nd is a great day. Congrats on getting the line stretched. If you're richer than me I think we're related. If you're poorer than me I know we're related. My bass club webpage http://texbass.8m.com/

Thanks for the invite Picou. I had a great time. Except for the drive home. The headache I had turned into a migraine. Made driving at night near impossible. Fortunatly it let up a little about the time I got to 35. Fishing was slow yesterday, but my reaction time was also a little slow yesterday. I think I ended up missing 4 fish yesterday total. If the weather holds, purtis should be on fire here pretty soon though. Water was in really good shape and lot's of grass already. |
