This is very difficult for me to do as I’m sure you’ll understand but I must do this under advisement from my therapist. As part of my treatment, I hereby announce that on February 28th it would have been one year since I purchased my Triton TR21X with a Merc 225hp Optimax but unfortunately she died on Sunday at approximately 8:15am on that darn "The Boat Killer" Lake Fork, Texas!! She my first Mercury outboard!! The Doctors at Rockwall Marine are not hopeful to repair her. I think the only thing that will get her back in action is a new power head which should be covered under warranty. She helped me to a Championship Victory at Lake Palestine and I second place finish in the Irving Bass Club. She was a good partner and I just hate to see her go before I could have landed just one more Crappie on Sunday… This is all part of the treatment other wise I would be PULLING WHAT LITTLE HAIR OUT OF MY HEAD AND PUTTING A TORCH TO THAT STINKING BOAT RIGHT NOW… BUT… I’m calm and under control :-)

That is what happens when you buy an anchor instead of a motor! :-)
Here's to better times and a quick fix Oz

Now that I have wiped the tears from my eyes I think I can respond. (tears of laughter of course)

That sucks Oz... Good job following your therapist's advice and talking about it. It will get better and there is hope. Did they give you an ET on when you will get your boat back?

Personally, I think it is Scott's fault... :-)

I'm going with the Scott deal myself ;) They'll look at it this weekend they make a determination on what warrnty will do. If it's the motor the power head will be replaced which I hope it is at this point.

Bummer! I hope I'm never in that pestition.

Next time your at Rockwall Marine, have Tommy show you a Puma, powered with an Etech HO (I think that's the right motor).

I think that's the same "Stob" Texfisher found a few weeks ago?

Familiar Story - I just got mine back after a new power head was put on - about 1 year old Suzuki 250 4 stroke.

Just be ready to fish again - the time will come!

Keep us posted!

Ya know, it really doesn't seem to matter what brand I hear story after story of outboards blowing up for no reall reason. Could you imagine if your car engine did this!!

Sorry to hear that Oz. I think they push these engines pretty hard from an engineering standpoint to get the performance and still function ECO friendly? A lot of new technology under the engine cover and it's still evolving.

I agree Rob and was going to post same but could never get it to sound quite right so did not hit enter. Well written. Less oil and more heat. :-)

Oz, have to agree with you about they all have problems. That is what I tell people all the time when they ask me what I think is the best motor. I tell them all they have to do is go to each dealer's mechanic shop to see the barrells of used pistons they all have to realize they all blow up! :-)

I picked up the Boat Friday and they installed a new power head. Everything was under warranty. I did the breakin at Lewisville in the wind and rain so I could be ready for a beating at Cedar Creek.

Oz, great to hear about your boat getting fixed. Now just watch how much you hang out with PQ. He is liable to drag you down to his fish catching level. :-)
