As many of you know I was fortunate enough to go fishing in Mexico a couple of times last year. I have become addicted and I'm in the process of planning a return trip to El Salto in October.

I booked and stayed at www.anglersinn.com last year and can't say enoygh about them. The accomadations, food, fishing and cold beer was great. However, their prices are a little on the high side.

I have found another place www.mexicobassonline.com that is much more affordable.

Here's my break down of cost for mexicobassonline

4 Nights and three full days of fishing, transportation to and from airport (drink free beer during this time) lodging and meals $1,089.00

Tip guides and wait staff $200.00 (This is a very good tip)

Airfare $500.00 (I paid $389.00 when I went, I'm using 500.00 as a worst case scenerio).

So, I'm figuring $1,800.00 is a good budgetary number.

My questions is, Who's interested and who is willing to pony up and go?

How about FTN ponies up and sends someone from the site! Some sort of raffle! $1800/100= $18. Sell the tickets for $25 per person. The proceeds go to the site to help run the site and make any future improvements! Also, the extra $ will help if there are any extra, unforeseen costs in such things as airfare increases. Have the raffle ONLY for 100 tickets, and void the raffle if the 100 tickets are not sold! Just a wild and crazy idea!

Very interesting prospect there.

I just did a quick search on Expedia for the middle of October and the cheapest flight to Mazatlan was $472 round trip. That was a flight that had a connection in Houston. I would estimate that $500 - $600 should cover the round trip airfare.

I'll have to give this some thought. I would like to get the cost down some and make the tickets only $20 each.

Good idea "J"... :-)

Well, if it's a go....I'd be the first one to throw in my 20 or 25! If you really want to bring the cost down...sell more tickets! Double the tickets and cut the cost in half. I think it'd be a good way to bring new people to the site as well!

I'd probably buy a ticket but probably still could not go. Who wants to be my friend? :-)

My thought right now is try and get a discounted rate on a trip for two and raffle off the pair so that the winner would take who-ever they wanted.

This is my thought right now and I just need to get in touch with the outfitter and see what I can make happen.

Picou...

I'm glad to hear your considering this. I think it's awesome! I was only half serious when I mentioned it. This is great! I really hope this comes together. Good luck. I'm back in school getting my MBA, and at the same time working full time. So, freetime is almost non-existant, but if I can be of any assistance, please let me know. I'll offer up any help I can.

Thanks Jay, I know what you mean about free time. I work full time, going to school nights for my BSEE, writing for BassZone, running this website, and building/maintaining websites for my side business. Oh yea, I try to find time to hunt and fish also... :-)

I will get on the horn with the outfitter who is up here in the Dallas area and see what I can put together.
