What kind of reel does everyone use? I use Curado's. I just bought 2 this spring. So far I really like them.

Scott

Mike I sent you an email for a username, but never received an answer.

I have a Curado, some Calcutta's and Chronarch's. The Chronarchs's are by far the best reels I have. However, Curado's are hard to beat for the price.

Yeah, I would like to have a chronarch, but they are expensive! I will get one someday though.

Scott, we have 20% coupons in our hunting and fishing annual booklet to Bass Pro. Not sure if the do the same in Missouri or not. I have never taken advantage of the coupon because I rarely shop there. But, if ya'll shop online at BPS, go thru my site because I earn 5%...

BTW: Charles has all these expensive reels so he can look like he knows what he is doing...

Whatever!

What until one of your girls throws Rod & Reel overboard, like my Son did a couple of weekends ago. That gives a new meaning to swiming:-) Thank goodness I was able to recover them.

Dang... I'll certianly agree on that "worth swimming for"... Good job on the recovery bud.

Last year, I set down my St. Croix/Curado rod while the fluke was just out there laying on the bottom. I was taking off my rain jacket or something like that and I heard my rod hit the trolling motor. I immediately dove to the bow of the boat to catch it and grabbed it by the absolute butt of the handle as it was going over the side of the boat...

I'm all about the old Ambassaduer's made in Sweden. My grandfather gave me about 25 of them that he had been collecting, every model you can think of. I love them!

Shimano makes some sweet reels too, I plan on getting one soon.

Quantum 1310MGC's, 50 bucks a piece and tough as nails.

I'm thinking of trying one of them high falutin Curados though.

The Abu Garcia/Ambassadeur reels have always been my reels of choice. Tough as nails, which I need, 'cause I don't always treat them in the kindest fashion! :-O

Garcia 4600 C3, C4 and C5 reels for me. You just can't break them. If a part wears out you can buy a new part and I can take one completely apart and have it back together in ten minutes.

Amen, Javelin. That's why I choose them!

They might not be as smooth or as light as those foo foo reels that some like, but they're bulletproof!!
