Made a test run in Gerald's new 18' aluminum Gatortrax boat and 35 hp aircooled Gator surface drive. Let me tell you I'm impressed with it. At least 12 mph faster than a godevil and will go thru same muck. We got it up to 28 mph with us two and two ice chests. Water has really come up finally and has turned crystal clear with that little green salt tint to it. It has spread the trout out all over the marsh. Every initial drift we would make through the different marsh bayous would find us picking thru trout regularly but the drift back thru would hardly catch anything. Lots of small fish today with lots of throwbacks. Still wound up with our 50 fish limit in less than 4 hrs. It was a good foggy morning with the sun and the gnats coming out soon after we were there.

Man that looks like a sweet marsh rig. How loud is it (minus the two fisherman onboard)? :-)

A little louder than an outboard. It was really cool to ride in.

It was rough fishing and had to keep the pole in the water. I did not have time to take pictures of fish. Plus once they are in the chest they are so slimy I'm not touching them again and forgot to take a chest picture which I'm not real fond of anyway.
