I leave tomorrow for Florida. This will be my second Bassaster's Classic to attend. I will ride with Greg Hackney on the first day and Larry Nixon on the second day. We will provide written and video coverage of the entire event. I can't wait to see some of the huge fish caught out of Lake Toho. We will have new stories and video posted each day. Unlike last year, this event promises to live up to all the hype surrounding the Classic. If you get a chance, check out our coverage. I will post a recap and plenty of pics after we get back. Envy you too Dru. I'd love to fish with Greg Hackney. I think my nephew (Bigboy who posts here so often) is going to go to the weigh in site and maybe follow a few of the fisherman around in their boat. They are in La right now but they are looking forward to getting back to Orlando in time to go to many of these events. Quit being a mad, little bald man!

Yeah, spending a day in the boat with Hackney will probably be the highlight of the whole week. Just wish that I could fish. Wade, tell your nephew to email me when he gets back to Orlando. I don't know if I can hook him up with any passes but I will try. BassZone.com

Looks like Greg had a decent first day. 11th place with 18-09. Can't wait to hear the details from Dru. Also IKE was DQ'd today for unsportsmanlike conduct. I didn't know they had such a thing. From what I read he had a 11 pound stringer and had a couple of fish die. He threw a fit and broke some stuff on the boat. BASS reviewed the video and made the decision. If you're richer than me I think we're related. If you're poorer than me I know we're related. My bass club webpage http://texbass.8m.com/

The stuff he broke on his boat was his back light that had the American Flag hanging on it. He got mad, took the light out, broke it and threw it in the water with the Flag. Not the best thing to do to our flag especially when we are at war and or boys and girls are being killed to protect it. I've been an Ike fan in the past. His antics are all "stick" and I feel he crossed the line this time and it just might come back and bite him in the back side. |

KVD really made a push to get back in it. Just too much to overcome on a day like they had. I can't wait to make a trip on that lake soon now that my wife's sister live about 15 minutes from the launch. Quit being a mad, little bald man!

Sorry for not reporting in but the media room had limited internet access and we used our allotted access to render video to our website. Ike really screwed up. Truth is he forgot or just didn't turn on the recycle part of his live-well. Toyota took him out to the woodshed Friday night. The day on the water with Hakney was awesome. He should have had a bigger limit. He dumped a 4 pound bass at the boat and flat missed a couple of big ones. He set the hook on a monster but didn't get the hook in her. Pulled the jig back and it had the paint just peeled off the head. They were just biting funny. I went out with Gerald Swindle on day two instead of Larry Nixon. Nixon was in the top ten and I would have been jumping in and out of the Camera boat all day. Swindle had a good day including a 7.5 pounder. He is a riot. Non-stop joke cracking, rapping, Swindle-ism's all day. Check out the video for day two for the pictures of that fish. http://basszone.com/2006classic/videos/main.htm I'm working up a complete review of my time on the water with these guys and will have a story out soon. As far as the trip goes, it wasn't that great. I had my camera stolen so I lost all the pictures I had taken with Hackney. We stayed at Disney World so getting around was a nightmare. The media room was behind the weigh-in site so we couldn't watch the show. We did have a live feed into the TV program, including off-air comments. I will report more when I get a chance to work it up. BassZone.com
