It was wet and cold. The bite was slow. I had one bite all day. A 7.46 toad. I'll post pictures as soon as my partner sends them to me. |

Glad you at least got a nice toad for your efforts. What what did you catch it on? Were you still on the lake at 2:30 - 3:00? The girls got bumped from the basketball tournament so all of the sudden my Saturday freed up. I ended up fishing the Poormans tournament with a guy who needed a boater -- Jason Turk. The tournament start was delayed till after 8:30am due to the lightning and we were draw number 3 so we finally took off in the first flight of boats and fished in the rain. I boated the first fish at 11:00am on a black/blue lizard and it was a long time till the next fish was to come. We fished main lake up Caney, Eugene Ditch, Coffee Creek, and Long Branch. Jason landed our second keeper with only 10 minutes left before we had to book it to make weigh in. Unfortunately, we were not able to boat another fish in that last 10 minutes and made it back to weigh in with only minutes to spare. All said and done, there were 30 teams in the tournament and we finished 7th with 2.35 pounds. There were 18 0's and no limits were weighed. Big stringer for the day was 6+ pounds with 4 fish. It was a tough day and once again that sharelunker eluded me. Poormans is a pretty nice circuit and Judd who runs it is a very nice guy. All the anglers I met were very nice as well and I enjoyed spending the day with Jason. Hopefully he and I can fish another one in the future. Charles, sorry I missed your call. My phone was tucked inside my bibs and I was not about to try and dig it out. By the time I looked at the phone it was later in the day. I was asleep last night by 9:00pm completely wore out and my hands ached from being cold and wet all day. You know, I love Fork but it sure kicked my butt yesterday. We had 4 bites total and ended up catching 2 of them. Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

It was a hard fished day on Fork yesterday, but well worth it. I have sat on my rear all day and recovered from the beating. Thanks for the trip Mike, I look forward to the next time. Turk |

Welcome to the site Bumpman! Sorry you had to spend the day fishing with Mike Mike, We launched around 12:30 and loaded up around 5:30. I almost ran over to watch the weigh in, but it was drizzling and I didn't feel like getting shot by a thousand bb pellets (that hurts). We fished in Rogers and Bell Creek. I threw a weightless lizard and Jig. Caught my fish on the lizard next to a laydown. I "think" the fish were suspended. Probably one of the reasons they were so hard to catch plus the water temp had dropped a lot. When we loaded up a guy from TP&W asked us to participate in a survey. When I told him we caught one fish he said "that's one fish more than everyone else". |

Bring it on Bigun... It's been a long time since I saw someone catch a bass at Fork on a mirro-lure... I threw a buzz bait for about 5 minutes then Bumpman landed that fish so I went back to the lizard since we only had 10 minutes left. Welcome Bumpman... Glad you made it over. We'll hit the water again and hopefully do better next time. Looking at the weather reports, I may just have to call in sick this week... Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish
