I was fortunate enough to take off work early Friday and headed to Lake Fork Texas for and afternoon of some world class fishing (I wish). Launched around 2:00pm and only caught three fish. Nothing to brag about. Matter of fact two of these fish could be described as minnows. However, I saw some spawning beds that were void of fish, this told me that the fish are probably holding tight to cover at the first good breakline so I tried that with nothing. It was time to load up for the thirty minute drive over to my dads house were I was to meet my wife and kids.

Saturady I luanched around 9:00am and headed to the back of a differnt creek still confident that the fish still arn't comitted to being shallow. I started throwing my "red" trap and had my first fish five cast into the day. A nice football that measured 23" (that's the way to start a fishing trip in my book). I stayed in this paticular creek channel all morning going back and forth throwing my trap and landed a couple of more fish. I than switch to a brush hog and started to flip every stob possible catching a little chunk every now and then. I had to be on the road by noon to be back to my dads so I could get cleaned up so my wife and I could drive over to Shrevport to lose our life savings and celebrate our 14th wedding anniversary. In total I caught nine fish on Saturday. The only regret I have is none of my buddies were with me to take pictures:-)

Man, I wish I could have been there to take pics for you buddy. I was on the soccer fields coaching one team and as soon as that one was over it was to another field to watch my youngest play her game. I am stoked to report that both teams were victorious. Once that was over it was rush to pick up the cake and head home to get ready for the basketball team party we were giving Jessica and her team.

I thought about you and wondered how it was going. Glad to hear that you managed some good fish and had a good time. Hopefully next time I can get out there and you can teach me how it is done... :-)
Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish
