What a great time, thanks to all that came out today for the first ever FTN day at the lake. It was great to meet those I had not met yet and great to see those I had previously met.

It was truly an event filled day with some mishaps and drama, but there were definately a few fish being caught.

The morning for me started with my alarm not going off and I woke up an hour late. I managed to meet up with everyone tapping their toes waiting on me 20 minutes after we were supposed to meet up. We launched and headed out for a fun filled day of fishing.

The first part of the day found Keith, Audra, Cotton, Cat, and Matt trolling the points looking for some action. Us on the other hand, we decided to wait and let them locate the fish.

It didn't take Keith long to spot some birds working and we headed over to all the action. I think everyone hooked up on a fish during this action except Greg

Audra's
Mike's

When the action was hot, nobody wanted to put the pole down and pick up the cameras. Unless they were really good fish like those...

Once the sandies quit biting, Rudey and I headed to the boat docs to try and hook into some largemouths and finally started to catch some. Unfortunately, Rudey messed up and let me in on his secret. He must have been up all night setting out fish for him to snag today

Charles and Greg came to chase bass and the smack talking jumped up quite a bit.

Charles

We decided to move to another spot and realized that my cranking battery was dead. With a jump from Charles we were on our way.

The next spot was equally fruitful and we landed a few there also.

Mike Bass

Here is Charles having a little difficulty trying to lip his bass. We kept trying to tell him that he wasn't that tall.

And on we fished

We worked the shoreline for a while and ended up seperating again. It didn't take long for the radio to light up with the words of "Fish On. It was Charles telling us that they got into the sandies schooling back a few points. Rudey and I packed up and headed over to them. The water boiled, the action was hot, and we ended up catching at least 10 more sandies each. Once the frenzy was over, it was time for a little break to catch our breath.

resting

Soon we decided to head back to the ramp and with the calm still surface, it was a nice boat ride from North of 2 mile back to Cedar Cove. Back at the ramp we snapped a few more pictues and headed home.

Thanks... I ended up with 6.25 pounds of cookable fillets. We threw back many more fish than we kept. I was the only one who wanted some for the freezer but I did not want to clean too many.

I have given the boat a bath and it's ready for taking the kids to Lake Bonham tomorrow after Church. I'll make sure to take the camera.
Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

One pic to add.

The group pic of the ones that, as Greg put it, "didn't have to go home and take their Geritol."

He said it, not me!!:-O

Anybody need a fishing guide?!?!

Had a blast, thanks for putting the trip together and allowing me to participate. The weather was perfect. Once the fish turned on it was non-stop lip ripping action. Whens the next trip?

Looks like you guys had a blast!

Greg, besides Matt, I was the youngest one there!! It's not my fault your backside is now an internet celebrity...no more cheap shots allowed!! :-)

When we left the lake, we headed out to Poblano's and ate lunch. We spent 2 or 2 1/2 hours there just eating and visiting. We talked hunting and fishing! It was such a blast.

Charles, I'm ready for the next trip, too!

It was a great time. Audra I have not checked the other thread yet, almost afraid to. But you did say you wanted a shot of my "best side"!!! :-)

Glad I got to meet Cotton, Cat, Charles, Rudey, Mike, Solocam and even Charles (LOL) did I miss any one? Oh yea I guess it was good to see Audra and Keith again.

I started off a little slow but Charles worked hard to put me on the fish and we all finished strong. This lake stuff is different than wade fishing for reds and specks!! Looking forward to the next trip.

Last thing. On a related note This "ramp biatch" did not make the other thread about the idiots not knowing how to back down a ramp, at least not this time. :-)

Was a great time and I can't wait to go again. Geritol? Tired (youngest of all) ole Matt is the only reason we left the restaurant as early as we did! I think Audra and I could have stayed and talked "shooting form" all day!!

Cotton - fix that picture NOW! I'm not tiny but I'm not that big?

We just got back to the house after Church and we are hooked up and headed back out to the lake -- Bonham for some perch jerkin and bass fishin. Crankin battery is charged and we will see if it holds a charge.

Guys & Gals, I had a blast yesterday. I can't wait to do it again. As far as I am concerned, we can do the same lake and the same thing. Maybe the sandies will cooperate a little better in the early hours next time.

Cotton, you are probably right about those 4 fish being the ones ya'll gave me... The rest of the fish in the ice chest were bigger...

I'm telling you, when we got back into the sandies they were some monsters. I bet most of them were over 15 inches and Rudey was ultra-light handling them. It was a ball and I threw a couple back because they were probably only 12 or 13 inches long. Charles & Greg donated a couple to the "Feed The Picou's" fund also -- thanks to all who donated... 16 of these sandies completely filled my 28 quart chest that I take on the boat.

That trip is what it is all about to me, thanks to all for the great time.

So what's wrong with sandals?!?!

Jesus wore sandals!

I'm not saying we're Jesus or anything, but I did have to show Picou were to cast to catch fish!

And he said unto them, Cast the net on the right side of the ship, and ye shall find. They cast therefore, and now they were not able to draw it for the multitude of fishes. John 21-6

There is only one thing wrong with sandals and fishing.... The tan/burn lines...

Rudey, you told me where to cast, but I just never could find those lines you had the fish tied to...
