Quick Thoughts For Monday

1. Amistad!!!! What a lake. Can you imagine pulling into a cove and seeing a 14 lb-er and two 10’s? Edwind said he was being conservative when he called her 14 pounds. How about fishing a tournament for 4 days and never weighing in fish less than 4 pounds. Unbelievable!
2. Amistad again. I’m going. I don’t know when but I’m definitely going. Actually thinking about canceling my Colorado Elk hunt to go fishing in October. Gary Klein said he caught 300 fish a day during their practice period in November.
3. Mike, did you catch any fish at Fork? Did you find anything on T-wok? Did you try out your new spinnerbaits?
4. The pros are headed to Rayburn this week, if you can, stop by and see them. The crowds were great in Del Rio. The pros are going out of their way to show their appreciation for the fans. Take your kids or just show up and watch how the big boys do it.
5. For anyone that clicked on the BASS ZONE this weekend, thanks. We surpassed all expectations. If you didn’t get a chance, please do. We have video, exclusive interviews and unbelievable photos. We are now leading the way in tournament coverage.

That’s probably enough for a Monday. I hope everybody had a good weekend and I look forward to talking about fishing for the rest of the week.

I have never heard of Amistad until lately but I would be willing to go there also.

I checked BassZone out. Quite an interesting sight if you are into the pro bass fishing scene and looking for tips. Reaction Innovation got a lot of good publicity this weekend for sure. Looks like you got a good thing going there Dru.

Thanks Wade. We try to do a good job on the pros. That's where the money is. We also have several guys covering the local tournaments. Mike is doing a great job with the Bass Champs.

Andre Moore is raking in the bucks. Last year it was the Sweet Beaver, now it's the Vixen and Boom Boom tube.

Covering the event at Amistad, I did a poor job of capturing the pros excitement. They were all blown away by the fishing. It's hard to express that in written words. Listening to them talk about it was amazing.

Dru, BZ did a great job covering the event. There was quite a buzz on one of the other fishing forums this weekend about the coverage. It really helped that the espn leader board was not working because people were frantically searching for information.

I would love to go fish Amistad one day. Wes and I found a great place right on the lake with cabins when we went on our exotic hunt a few years back. I just don't recall if they had a launch at the facility.

I wonder if the improvement in fishing there has anything to do with the rise in the lake level over the last couple of years?

Hi boss.

I'll have some good pics of crappie by end of week. Me and gramps put over 100 fillets in the freezer last week from Brownwood.

Amistad is an awesome lake. Even the bowfishing there is unbelievable.
