Noticed something over the last couple of weeks with the crappie spawning. Wanted to know if anyone else has experienced it or noticed it. We catch twice as many fish on windy days as we do on calm days. The water is muddier on the windy days. My grandfather says that on the windier days it pushes the bait up close to shore were the fish are spawning. What are yalls thoughts? |

I'd agree with that observation along with fish seem to be not as spooky with a little wind wave action. Quit being a mad, little bald man!

Yup. It's the same with redfish and trout in the salt as well. |

I think another contribution may be the lake levels. More fish are looking for moving water to lay their eggs vs going up the creeks. No matter what the case, glad ya'll are able to take advantage of it. Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

We hardly ever get any calm days anyway. A 3/16 oz. jig under a small slip cork with a good breeze can be deadly. M&M Retires Afield

your grandpa is exactly right, thats the way it works with catfish because the wind blows the plankton to the shore and then the baitfish go to eat the plankton,so then the crappie or cats eat the baitfish. "If it aint got whiskers throw it back." "I'd rather be fishing than talk to you right now."
