Anybody planning on fishing this weekend? I have a tournament Saturady (www.cabaoutdoors.com).

Weather report is calling for "heavy rain", cool tempertures, wind from the east southeast 10 to 15 with lightning. I can tolerate the rain, wind and cold but you put lightning in the mix and I'm outta there!

Good luck and be safe.

I'll be fishing the Bassmasters Weekend Series on Lewisville as a non-boater Sunday. Going to be a nasty weekend for sure and I bet the fish are going into shock after all the warm weather we had lately...

I sure hope I draw a good boater...

Good luck Charles and give us an update on the results. What lake will ya'll be on?
Thank you Lord for my family and the waters I get to fish

Smoke the speckle trout this morning on a charter. 50 speckle trout by 9:20 this morning and the nicest trout I've gotten into this year by far. Some solid 2 and 3 lb trout with one 5 lber. Looks like it may be a late speckle trout year deep in the marsh this year. Here is to hoping. I don't have any other charters this weekend and my wife is in NY City so I'm on kid duty so will depend on if I can get anyone to watch them what I do the rest of the weekend. I was going to bring my two daughters but the gnats are TERRIBLE and I don't think they would enjoy it too much. Good luck to everyone.

How was the fishing in all that rain?

Mike sumed it up nicely! At one point, the thought of never fishing again and taking up bowling crossed my mind!

I think we ended up in 22nd place. We weighed two fish.

PQ, you should change the name of this site to PQsucks@fishingtexas.net! LMAO. :-)

I can't even imagine fishing around here in the winds we have had the last three days. I would suck too if it was not for the lease!!!

Guys,
I fished all day Friday, Saturday and Sunday in the tournament. I think I can have a limit in the boat by wednesday...
Congrats to my non boater for showing me hows it's done. We ended up finding fish with 30 minutes to go. I landed 4 short fish and he caught (1) 3lber in that time span... The only good thing is I did learn something :-)

I learn nearly every trip. On my last trip I learned too much heat and humidity fishing the BackCountry waters in Coonie Country can literally burn the FISHING GUIDE'S BRAIN (BigUn) and logical reasoning. I watched Wade tie on 3 lures and throw them over the side missing the knot loop in the lure. KAPLUNK! Next time it gets that hot, Wade needs to toss the lure into the boat to check his knot LOL!

It was hot that day and the only water we had was beer. :-)

Can't hardly argue with the truth.... :-(

Charles, I tied for 23rd with 52 other anglers Sunday. There were 75 co-anglers and 22 of them caught at least 1 keeper. The rest of us goose-egged. It was so tough that 1.7 pounds drew a check...

Oz... LMAO... :-)

Pq, I jest in fun due to you were my idol until I now realize all those pictures you sent me were taken of other people's fish at the boat ramp! :-) That is quite a rough day when only 22 out of 75 people can catch at least one fish no doubt. I still have faith in you PQ! YOU CAN DO IT!

Rob, I am definitely no genius by any sense of the means and that was not one of my better days. I've been known for having a few brainfarts that is for sure. May as well have threw a ten dollar bill over that morning.

I sure wish ya'll would quit letting my secrets out... :-)

I know what my problem is this year and I am about to remedy it. I have gotten away from my go-to bait and trying all this other stuff. Of course, the wind has made it nearly impossible to fish my go-to bait also.

I have spent 70% of my time on the water throwing crankbaits this year and have not caught a fish on one. 10% probably throwing rattle traps and caught 1 bass on a trap. Another 10% of my time has been spent throwing spinnerbaits and caught 1 fish on a spinnerbait. 5% pitching jigs to no avail and the remaining 5% of the time I have fished soft plastics and caught most of my fish this year on soft plastics. My strength is in soft plastics but I have spent the least amount of time fishing them -- that's about to change.

My new goal... Renew my idol status with Bigun... :-)
